What was Christmas like for the Pioneers? It’s 1854… many children have traveled miles and miles with their families to settle the wide open prairies on the American plains.  Kirsten is one of these children.  Her family came all the way across the ocean from Sweden to start a new life!  She wonders if Christmas in America will be much different than the Christmases in Sweden that she remembers.  Would there be warm, cinnamon bread?  And presents?  And cheerful Christmas decorations to hang in their new home?  What do you think?
