Books and Resources List For Colonial America (Felicity) Unit

Studying the beginnings of the United States of America should be a part of every child’s education!
You may be coming to this Colonial America Book List to find ideas to supplement your own US History study, or you may be using this companion list of resources along with the FREE Colonial America (American Girl Felicity) Unit Study, or Fields of Daisies’  FREE Early American History Curriculum.

Either way, you will hopefully find LOTS of suggestions for historical fiction and non-fiction books, movie ideas, hands-on activity guides, board games, coloring books, craft kits, and all kinds of other fun ways to make your study of US History come alive and STICK in the memories of your students!

 

 

 

 

What grade level are the books in this list good for?
Just as every child is different, the needs for every family are different too.  If you have followed Fields of Daisies for very long, you know that I work really hard to put together unit studies, curriculum, and other resources that, with just a few simple adjustments, will work for multiple ages (and abilities) in a family.
Look over the lists below and you will find everything from picture books to quite difficult reading.
Hopefully it will be easy to choose some quality read alouds, books for independent reading, and beautiful colored informational books that will spark your children’s curiosity about this subject!

Will the books be all geared for GIRLS?
Absolutely not!  There are an equal amount of books, activities, and movies that your boys will love too!
I’ve had many families write to tell me much to their boys’ surprise, everyone is enjoying learning history together with these units!
