Daily Bread from the Psalms (Psalm 10)
Daily Bread: Thoughts and Prayers from the Psalms
~ Psalm 10 ~
Have you ever prayed with your whole heart and heard… nothing?
Yep. Me too.
It feels like God has forgotten. Like God does not hear.
Maybe like God is not there at all.
It can really shake your faith.
This is when we need to pray TRUTH!
Psalm 10 is a fantastic prayer for walking through a time like this.
I wrote about one experience I had that took me years to understand.
You can read about how God was answering my prayers all along when I thought maybe He had abandoned me.
(Mercy! When God is Silent)
ARISE, O LORD !
LIFT UP YOUR HAND !
Don’t forget us
Don’t forget we are helpless.
When we are tempted to believe
That You stand far off,
When seek You but can’t see you,
We will declare the TRUTH.
We will cry out to You!
Encourage our hearts
Remind us of these things…
You, O God,
YOU DO SEE
trouble and grief.
You do CONSIDER it.
You take it
in your HAND.
You are our
HELPER
You HEAR
the desire of the
afflicted.
You ENCOURAGE us
and LISTEN to our cry.
YOU !!
King of Kings
Defender of the fatherless
Defender of the oppressed
You DO see and consider to take
It all in your hand.
We will be encouraged in YOU
Forever and ever.
Listen to or Read Psalm 10.
You may also enjoy this song by Aaron Strumple. It’s called ’23’, and while it is obviously based on Psalm 23, I thought it fit perfectly with today’s Psalm too. The whole CD is really good !!
