Daily Bread:  Thoughts & Prayers from the Psalms

~ Psalm 20 ~

Have you ever needed some plain old ENCOURAGEMENT ?!?
Psalm 20 brings it!
Though this Psalm was sung by the People of God for their King, David, it can encourage our hearts today with the same truths!
The first thing that stuck out to me in today’s reading was the use of the word “WE”.
While God is the ONE we call to, I am not in the battles of this world alone.
You aren’t either.

WE are in this battle together.

What else?
The LORD saves and He answers.
We can trust Him.
We will get knocked down LOW,
BUT 
We will RISE UP and STAND FIRM!!
We will be VICTORIOUS!

And when we are,
WE will SHOUT FOR JOY!
And we will raise our songs, and praise, and banners HIGH
In the name of our LORD, our God.

May the LORD answer us when we are in distress.

LORD, in times of trouble
PROTECT us
ANSWER us
GRANT us Your SUPPORT.
HOLD us up.

EXTEND
Your hand to save us !
Just as you have done
BEFORE

LORD, each day
REMEMBER us
ACCEPT our offerings
GRANT us our requests

LET us
SEE the desires of our hearts
and our plans succeed !

LORD,
WHEN we are VICTORIOUS
We will SHOUT for joy!
We will LIFT Your Name on high !
We will RISE UP
We will STAND FIRM !

We will TRUST in You
FOREVER.

Answer us when we call !
