~ Psalm 36 ~

Have you ever driven through a rugged mountain pass?
Or looked up from the bottom of the Grand Canyon?  Or watched a big storm blow in across the ocean?  There is something almost magnetic that grabs our souls as we experience the grandeur of nature, and therefore our own smallness in it.  We know instinctively the power of the winds and the waters.  Without a single word from these inanimate parts of creation, we respect them.  We watch in awe as they demonstrate their sheer power on this earth.  Yet there are so many who have a healthy reverence for these, and still… absolutely no fear of the Creator who SPOKE them into existence.

God’s creations testify constantly, BY DESIGN, of His glory.
 Psalm 19– “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands“, and Romans 1:20– “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
So that people, are without excuse.

Who are you praying for today, that doesn’t know God?
It’s grievous to consider isn’t it?  But we aren’t without hope, or help from the Lord!!
As we pray Psalm 36 together, let’s remember how high and how deep and how far the love of Jesus reaches!

 

LORD
It is grievous
to consider
those who don’t know you.

Those
who have no respect
for your Name.
Those whose sins
have hardened their hearts
and caused them to
cease to be wise
or to do good.

OH, that they would simply
KNOW YOU !

YOU,
whose LOVE reaches
all the way to the heavens !
You,
whose FAITHFULNESS reaches
all the way to the skies !

YOU,
whose RIGHTEOUSNESS
is like a might mountain!
You LORD,
whose JUSTICE
is like the great deep !

OPEN their eyes,
PIERCE their hearts
that they might know how
PRICELESS
your unfailing LOVE is.

When they SEE
the things Your hands have made
may they stand in awe
and reverence
and repent!

You who PRESERVES
both man & beast…
Both HIGH and LOW among men
find REFUGE in you !

OH, that they would simply
KNOW YOU !

We feast in ABUNDANCE
from your house and drink
from your RIVER!

For from YOU flows
the FOUNTAIN of LIFE !

That all would see your LIGHT !

Continue in your
RIGHTEOUS LOVE
forever and ever.

AMEN !!
