Daily Bread from the Psalms (Psalm 18)
Daily Bread: Thoughts & Prayers from the Psalms
~ Psalm 18 ~
“The word of the LORD is FLAWLESS” ~Psalm 18:30
Think on that.
Flawless.
Without any contradiction, imperfection, or fault.
The Greek is ‘tamim’, meaning without blemish, blameless, whole, without defect.
Complete.
Perfect.
Can you trust them, these words of God?
David did! Enough that he bet his life on it!
Psalm 18 is the song David sang to the LORD when He delivered him from Saul and his army.
We’ve read David’s cries for help…and his frustration as he waited.
Now the LORD had answered, and the first words David sang burst with emotion!
“I love you, O LORD, my strength!”
Why?
Because David found the word of the Lord had proven flawless!
The LORD was INDEED his Rock.
Solid, unmoving, unshakeable.
God had saved David from his enemies-
“For who is God besides the LORD?
And who is the Rock except our God?”
These are STILL the flawless words of God!
David ends Psalm 18 with this reminder to us!
“He gives his king great victories:
He shows unfailing kindness to his anointed to David
AND to his descendants FOREVER.”
